MEMBERSHIP DRIVE FOR 2023 IS NOW OPEN:  The BPA annual membership drive has
begun.  From now until January 31, 2023, get the lowest membership rates of
the year.  Complete the membership application found at
<http://boardgamers.org/forms/MemberForm.shtml>
http://boardgamers.org/forms/MemberForm.shtml to take advantage of these
rates.  To be eligible to vote for the 25 Trial Events to be held at WBC
2023 as wells as the Sportsman of the year, you must join by January 31,
2023.

 

Online membership will remain open until June 15, 2023.  Price Increases
will occur on February 1, April 1, and June 15, 2023.  To receive a price
before it increases, you must submit the online membership application which
is available on the BPA website and send payment by the date listed (Paypal
payment sent or check postmarked by the 3 dates listed).

WBC 2022 SPORTSMANSHIP NOMINEES: The nine nominees, along with a description
of their effort that earned them the nomination can be found at

between now and January 31st and vote for which nominee you feel is most
deserving

WBC 2022 TRIAL EVENT BALLOT REVEALED: 25 Trial events will become part of
WBC 2023.  The selection of the 25 is determined by those individuals that
become members by January 31st.  Join the BPA now to cast your vote for up
to ten events that are listed on the ballot.  A total of 55 events are on
this tear's trial vote ballot.  The complete listing of these events can be

WBC EVENT SUBMISSIONS FOR CENTURY & LEGACY EVENTS NOW OPEN: Submissions of
Event Forms for WBC 2023 are now open.  Century and Legacy events are due by
January 31, 2023.  Sponsor, Vendor, and Exhibitor Submissions will have a
deadline of February 28, 2023.

WBC EVENT REPORTS, EVENT HISTORY & LAURELS, AND WINNERS PAGES DELAYED:  Due
to a computer issue with the convention director's computer, these results
have been delayed.  Work has begun to get these updated as soon as possible.

 

SEVEN SPRINGS RESERVATIONS: Remember that reservations at Seven Springs for
Condos/Townhouses, Chalets, and Cabins can be booked now.  Hotel
Reservations for stays of 5 nights or more will open on January 15, 2023.

 

 

PBeM NEWS:

 

Tournaments Starting:

 

2023 ADVANCED CIVILIZATION TOURNAMENT ACCEPTING SIGN-UPS: GM Nathan Barhorst
will once again run our annual advanced civilization tournament.  Sign-ups
will begin shortly with the tournament starting in early 2023 after the
finals of the 2022 tournament have started. Players will soon be able to
sign up for the 2023 tournament at  <https://bpa-civ.rol-play.com/>

20TH  MARCH MADNESS PBeM TO START IN JANUARY: The 20th annual BPA March
Madness PBeM tournament (2023) will start with the draft on Tuesday, January
2nd, 2023. To sign up to play, email GM Bruce Monnin (
<mailto:bdmonnin [at] nktelco.net> bdmonnin [at] nktelco.net).

 

We annually get ~40 players for this event.  All players receive two teams,
so are guaranteed at least two games in the event.  The format is single
elimination until a champion is crowned, usually in late spring.

 

If you have played March Madness before but are worried about using ACTS to
play the game through email, we have volunteers (usually Harry Flawd and
Mark Yoshikawa) standing by ready to show you how easily it can be done.

SPLENDOR TOURNAMENT TO START IN FEBRUARY:  Chris Wildes will once again be
GMing a Splendor tournament in 2023.  The format this year will be three
rounds of three simultaneous games.  All games will be 3-player games.  For
