EIGHT DAYS LEFT FOR TRIAL EVENT SUBMISSIONS:  Event Submissions for the WBC
2024 Trial Ballot are being accepted through November 25, 2023.  To submit
an event for the trial ballot, complete the Trial Ballot Event Submission
Form and an Event Preview (preferably in word document) and submit both via
email to  <mailto:conventiondirector [at] boardgamers.org>
conventiondirector [at] boardgamers.org. Reminder:  No events will be placed
automatically on the ballot; a form must be submitted to be included on the
ballot.

 

There have been 19 games submitted for the trial ballot so far.  They can be

WBC EVENT REPORTS UPDATE: Additional 2023 and 2022 event reports were posted
this week.

 

The WBC 2023 event reports will be posted in the order in which they were
received.  The remaining WBC 222 reports will be posted along with the
posting of WBC 2023.  If an event from 2022 was not run in 2023, its event
report will be posted with 2023 postings on weeks where there are less 2022
postings.  The goal is for all 2022 and 2023 reports to be completed before
the membership drive and trial voting starts later this year.

GALULLO WINS FIRST FOOTBALL STRATEGY PBEM: Doug Galullo defeated Ray
Stakenas in the Super Bowl to become the first Football Strategy PBeM
Champion.  Twenty six participants joined the BPA's first Football Strategy
PBeM Tournament.

registration for the next Breakout Normandy PBeM tournament through November

MARCH MADNESS TO BEGIN IN DECEMBER:  The 21st annual BPA March Madness PBeM
tournament will start with the draft on Monday, December 11th, 2023.  To
sign up to play, email GM Bruce Monnin ( <mailto:bdmonnin [at] nktelco.net>
bdmonnin [at] nktelco.net). We annually get ~40 players for this event.  All
players receive two teams, so are guaranteed at least two games in the
event.  The format is single elimination until a champion is crowned,
usually in late spring. The teams to be drafted can be found on the

NAVEGADOR TO START NEXT TOURNAMENT IN DECEMBER: Navegador has been a
tournament at WBC since 2011 and has been a solid game with its rondel
mechanics and market manipulation, while players explore routes to the Far
East.   The tournament will be played on the Yucata online game portal and
all entrants will play 4 simultaneous games for a chance to advance to

TWILIGHT STRUGGLE 2024 TO START IN JANUARY:  Ron Jacobsen will once again GM
next year's Twilight Struggle PBeM tournament.  The tournament games will

Ongoing Tournaments:

 

WASHINGTON'S WAR ROUND 1 UNDERWAY:  The 2023 Washingtons War PBEM tournament
is under way.  35 players started Round 1 on October 16th via the ACTS
system.  The tournament will run 4 preliminary Rounds to determine 8 to
advance to single elimination.  The qualifiers will play a Quarterfinal,
winners advance to Semifinal and Semifinal winners advance to Final to
determine the 6 laurelists.  

 

 

 

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members. 

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.


 

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
