Three teams are already in the Elite Eight: Dan Leader's 16A Pittsburgh 2009, David Schneider's 39A Georgia Tech 1990 and Henry Rice's 25B St. Joseph's 2004. That Georgia Tech squad has scored 110 or more points in all three of its games. 2021 WASHINGTON'S WAR PBEM HAS ENTERED FINALS: Washington's War has reached the finals. It will be Phillip Burgin-Young as the Americans vs Dave Rubin as the British. Both players are 6-0 at this point having played each side 3 times winning every time. Phillip's Semi Final vs William Bentley turned out to be one of those games that a player hates. The American started 1775 with no operations card. William managed to make a fight of it, getting the French to within 1 of coming in without the help of the Ben Franklin card and causing the British to lose their regular bonus. The Americans also did not get the Declaration of Independence. But it was too late to recover. Final colony count was 10 for the British 3 for the American, The other Semifinal game between George Young and Dave Rubin was closer. Dave's Americans managed to get a lot of the required breaks to suppress the British. The Declaration of Independence and Ben Franklin were played. The British Regulars were lost, and the French arrived in the last turn of the game 1779. The Final game should be concluded before WBC. The following players will qualify for laurels. Their final position depends on which player wins the final. 3rd or 4th, between William Bentley and George Young, 5th or 6th, between Tom Dworschak and Greg Ottoman. The other quarter finalists, Tim Tow and Doug Green will take 7th or 8th place, depending on who wins the final. Tournament to date there have been 77 games played, 39 American and 38 British victories, including 4 American and 2 British victories in the elimination Round. BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA members. Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.
