CHANGES TO HEAT EVENTS FORMATS AND TIEBREAKERS: The Board has finalized its
review of heat formats and their associated tiebreakers and have approved
the following:

Formats staying the same are Heats Multiple Single Elimination (HMSE) and
Heats Winners Only (HWO)

Format being removed is Heats Single Win (HSW). This format was a
combination of winners only and tiebreakers from Heats most Wins (HMW) to
advance a set # of players. These events will have to choose one of the
Heats most win formats with its specific tiebreaker rules for advancement

Format being split into two different formats is Heats Most Wins. In order
to recognize the differences in GM and player preferences on multiple plays
versus minimum plays to advance, two different formats will replace Heat
Most Wins. The difference in these formats will be which set of tiebreakers
they will use for advancement. The multiple plays will be called Heats Most
Wins - Points and the minimum plays will be called Heats Most Wins - Timing.

For details on events including types, classes, styles, formats, and
tiebreakers please visit the new Event Description page at
http://www.boardgamers.org/wbc-eventdescription.html ,

WBC 2022 SUBMISSIONS OPEN: Submissions of Event Forms for WBC 2022 are now
open. WBC 2022 will be moving to a spreadsheet-based event form. This
change is driven by the recently approved heat event formats and
tiebreakers, eliminating redundant GM information, making selections
consistent with our Seven Springs location, and eliminating issues with the
previous form. The form is available on the Event Form page at
http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/event-form.html .

The deadline for submitting forms for events to be included in the Trial
Event Ballot is November 30, 2021. Trial Voting will then open the first
week of December and run through December 31, 2021.

Century and Legacy events will be due by January 15, 2022. Sponsor, Vendor,
and Exhibitor submissions will have a deadline of February 28, 2022
