BAND OF FOOLS CAPTURE WBC 2024 TEAM TOURNAMENT TITLE:  The last entry into
the WBC 2024 Team Tournament, Band of Fools, emerged with two wins and a
third to capture the Team Title for WBC 2024. Congratulations to Richard
Beyma, Gary Dickson, Steve Dickson, and Tom Gregorio for topping the other
61 entrants in the tournament. Details on Band of Fools accomplish as well

LYNG TOPS BRACKET BUSTING CONTESTANTS: With expertise that has not been seen
in recent years, Ted Lyng managed to correctly pick 5 of the top 10 teams
edging out Michale Dauer and Nick Pei who both managed 4 wins.

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTING ENDS JUNE 15:  The voting for this year's Board of
Directors ballot ends June 15, 2025, at midnight eastern Time

 

The Nine Members appear on the ballot for election to a three-year term on
the BPA Board of Directors. The slate features three incumbents and six
challengers. The list of candidates and their statements can be found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/about_election2017.html .  

 

The winners will be announced at the BPA Annual Meeting on Tuesday July 29,
2025, at 11:15 am in the Grand Ballroom at Seven Springs. Voting is easy
with an online ballot which can be found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/BoardBallot.shtml.

 

WBC 2025 TEAM TOURNAMENT NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS:  Submissions of Teams for
the WBC 2025 Team tournament is now open. Team Members must be
pre-registered for WBC. To submit your team, one member needs to send an
email to conventiondirector [at] boardgamers.org
<mailto:conventiondirector [at] boardgamers.org>  with Team Tournament 
Submission
in the Title of the email and it must include each members name and team
game chosen, it may also include a team logo if desired.  Team Submissions
are due by July 1, 2025. More information on the team tournament can be

WBC 2025 SCHEDULE UPDATED: The Spreadsheet version of the WBC 2025 Schedule
has been updated with change date on lines that changed. The Schedule can be
downloaded, which has items changed highlighted, from the WBC 2025
Scheduling Spreadsheet Page at
https://www.boardgamers.org/wbc25/schedule-spreadsheet-2025.html.

 

Other versions of the Schedule (iOS/Android/Calendar/Custom
Scheduler/Program) are being developed and links will be posted as the
development is completed.

 

JUNIORS EVENTS FOR WBC 2025: Coordinator Megan Byrd is working to fill in
the Juniors Schedule. There are still 3 time slots open if you would like to
run a Juniors event. Please reach out to Megan at juniors [at] boardgamers.org
<mailto:juniors [at] boardgamers.org>  ASAP to confirm if you would like to GM 
in
2025 with your game and time slot preferences. We are always open to new
game suggestions and can try to be flexible with scheduling if need be.



AUCTION AND AUCTION STORE FULL: The Auction and Auction Store are full. No
more submissions will be accepted for WBC 2025. Auction Store Lot numbers
have been sent to sellers. Auction Staff is reviewing the Auction
submissions for acceptance.

 

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE ENDS ON JUNE 15: The annual BPA membership drive is coming
to a close with 1,228 members so far. Memberships that include WBC admission
ends on June 15, 2025. WBC admissions after that date will be on-site at WBC
only. Associate memberships allowing participation in BPA Email Events will
continue through November 20, 2025.

 

If you still want to get the lower rates before WBC, you must complete and
submit the online application found at

PBeM NEWS:

 

Completed Tournaments:

 

GNECH WINS SAINT PETERSBURG TOURNAMENT: Fifty-six players participated in
the 2025 Saint Petersburg PBEM tournament. In the last game of the final
round, Lumin Sperling and Chris Gnech were in position to win the tournament
with a victory. It came down to a tiebreaker, with Chris claiming the
tournament win, his six leftover Rubles beating Lumin's four. The remaining
laurelists were, in order, Chris Wildes, Lumin Sperling, Ryan Feathers, Rob
Murray, Bill Masek. The Event Report can be found at

EMERICK CAPTURES FIRST TICKET TO RIDE PBEM WOOD: Andrew Emerick was the only
player in the final round to win two games and emerged as the first BPA
Ticket to Ride PBeM winner. The remaining laurelists, in order, were Chris
Trimmer, Max DuBoff, Aaron Byrd, Yoni Weiss, and Dan Elkins. Visit

SCHOOSE TRIUMPHS IN WATERLOO TOURNAMENT: Bert Schoose defeats Ed Menzel to
win the 2025 Waterloo email championship. The French and PAA each had only
three units left on the 1 PM turn of the last day of the campaign. But the
French were positioned so as to be able to march an infantry to Brussels on
their 3 PM turn thereby eliminating the three remaining PAA units on the
board to secure the win. Read the event report at

Sixteen players competed in a total of fifteen games. The remaining

CAN'T STOP TO BEGIN IN AUGUST: Chris Wildes will be the GM for the 2025
version of the BPA Can't Stop Tournament. The tournament will once again use

GREAT WESTERN TRAIL TO START IN SEPTEMBER: Rob Flowers will once again be

THROUGH THE AGES TO START AGAIN IN AUGUST:  Allan Jiang will once again be
the GM for the next installment of the BPA Through The Ages PBeM tournament.
This tournament will once again be played on the TTA app by Czech Games that
launched in 2017 for iOS, Android, and Steam. You must own the app and the
New Leaders and Wonders expansion in order to participate in the tournament.

WATERLOO TO START NEXT TOURNAMENT IN SEPTEMBER: GM Ed Menzel will start the
next Waterloo tournament in September. Contact GM Ed Menzel
(edmenzel [at] roadrunner.com <mailto:edmenzel [at] roadrunner.com> ) to sign 
up. It
will be single elimination with auction bidding for sides. Round lengths
will be 10 weeks with the same rules as at WBC. Details including past

Ongoing Tournaments:

 

BREAKOUT NORMANDY ENTERS ROUND 3:  Six players have advanced to round 3 of
the BKN PBeM tournament. Mark Gutfreund's Allies face Dan Leader's Germans,
Kevin Hammond's Germans face Peter Brucken's Allies, and Nels Thompson's
Germans face Scott Fenn's Allies.

 

MARCH MADNESS ENTERS REACHES ELITE EIGHT: The BPA March Madness PBeM
tournament is down to its Elite Eight. Paul Risner's 32B Villanova 1971 has
already reached the championship game out of Bracket B and is waiting for
the four players remaining to fight it out in Bracket A.

 

PRO GOLF HEADS TO PEBBLE BEACH FOR FINAL ROUND: Round 2 ended with the cut
line at 1 under par to advance 16 players to the Final round.



 

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members. 

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.


 

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
