JAMELLI VOTED SPORTSMANSHIP WINNER: Bob Jamelli has been named Sportsman of
the Year for 2024 receiving 22% of the votes cast in the annual membership
voting.  Bob earned himself the WBC's biggest prize . free lodging at the

2025 TRAIL VOTE RESULTS:  The 2024 Membership Drive saw 907 Members sign up
for WBC 2025 with 731 members voting for trial events.  Once again there was
a strong preference for returning games held at the previous WBC with 1 new
game and 2 game returning after an absence from WBC.  The Four new games
that made Trial status are Splendor Duel with Love Letter and Formula Motor
Racing returning after an absence from WBC.  The results of the trial vote

WBC EVENT SUBMISSIONS FOR VENDOR/SPONSORS/EXIBITORS NOW BEING ACCEPTED:
Event Forms for all WBC 2025  Sponsored events are now available to be
downloaded from The event form page at

http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/event-form.html. To submit a form to GM an
event, you must become a BPA member for 2025 and complete and email the
Event Form along with your Event Description (Word format preferred) for the
Preview Page to the Convention Director at

conventiondirector [at] boardgamers.org  by the February 28, 2025 submission
deadline.  

 

Reminder: Any Game submitted (expansion's use included) on an event form
must be published and available to the public by February 28, 2024.

SEVEN SPRINGS RESERVATIONS FOR FOUR NIGHT STAYS AT WBC 2025 OPENS SOON:
Reservations are now open for Condos and Chalets.  Reservations for Hotel
rooms for stays of 5 or more nights are open.  Reservations for 4 nights or
more will open at 9:00 am on February 19, 2025.

 

To make a reservation, call Vail Resorts Reservations. Our group code must
be provided when making reservations.  The code is being provided in your
membership confirmation email from the Convention Director.  It is NOT
available on the website for WBC 2025. Rooms and reservations are subject to
hotel availability. A minimum of a 2-night stay is required.  Guests may
only reserve up to two (2) rooms under the same name and/or credit card
number.

 

Room reservations will be available starting at 9:00 am on the following
dates:

*       Stays of 4 nights or more - Wednesday, February 19, 2025
*       Stays of 3 nights or more - Wednesday, March 19, 2025
*       Stays of 2 nights or more - Tuesday, April 16, 2025

BPA 2024 PREREGISTRATION STARTS STRONG:  BPA Membership for 2025 has started
strong.  Visit the Preregistration page for details at
http://boardgamers.org/wbc_preparation_prereg.html .

 

There are currently 22 people who have sent in a membership form but have
not sent in payment.  There are also 7 individuals who sent in payment but
have not submitted a membership application.  In order to complete the
membership, both the application and payment must be received.

 

Online membership will remain open until June 15, 2024.  Price Increases
will occur on April 1, and June 15, 2024.  For details on the different

WBC 2025 PREVIEWS POSTED:  91 previews have been posted. Previews for WBC

BPA BOARD TENTH SEAT FOR 3Q24 AND 4Q24 POSTED:  The Tenth Seat for 3Q24 has

7 WONDERS DUEL PBEM TOURNAMENT TO START IN JUNE: Chris Wildes will be the GM
for the next 7 Wonders Duel tournament. The tournament is planning to start
in June. For more details on the tournament and how to sign-up, please visit

CASTLES OF BURGUNDY TO BEGIN IN APRIL:  Castles of Burgundy has been a
tournament at WBC since 2013, allowing players to compete in building up
their provinces with a variety of tiles while balancing a limited number of
actions with dice and risk-taking.  The tournament will be played on the
Board Game Arena online game portal and all entrants will play 4
simultaneous games for a chance to advance to further rounds. Visit

FIRST HEAT PBEM TOURNAMENT TO START IN MARCH: Chris Wildes will be the GM
for the 1st BPA Heat PBeM tournament. The tournament is planning to start in

ORLEANS PBEM TOURNAMENT TO START IN MAY: Chris Wildes will be the GM for the
upcoming Orleans tournament. The tournament is planning to start in May. For

PRO GOLF PBEM BEGINS IN APRIL:  Pro Golf will commence its sixteenth annual
BPA PBeM rendition on April 1, 2025.  Once again, we shall play Augusta
during April, the month of the Masters.  Round two in May we will play
Muirfield Village, as the Memorial is played then.  Finally, during our
third round in June, we shall play Pebble Beach in honor of the U.S. Open.
NEW IN 2025:  Zip.  A random golfer will be chosen from the five available
golfers for each player.  For those playing in a group, each player in the
group with be assigned a different golfer.  If you want to play this year,

MARCH MADNESS PBEM DRAFT COMPLETE: The draft for the 2025 March Madness has
been completed and all first round games have begun.  Convention Director

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members. 

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.


 

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
