WBC 2024 SCHEDULE POSTED: The Spreadsheet version of the WBC 2024 Schedule
has been posted on the 2024 Schedule Page at
http://www.boardgamers.org/wbc24/schedule.html and can also be downloaded
from the Schedule Spreadsheet page at
https://www.boardgamers.org/wbc24/schedule-spreadsheet-2024.html.

 

Other versions of the Schedule (iOS/Android/Powers/Program) are being
developed and links will be posted as the development is completed.

 

AUCTION AND AUCTION STORE NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS: Submissions are now
being accepted for the 2024 WBC Auction and Auction Store and New Forms,
updated for 2024,  can be found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/wbc_auction_overview.html. New Forms must be used
as they include the item sheet pages that need to be attached to your items.
Each member will be limited to submissions of 25 items for the Auction and
50 items for the Auction Store.

 

Remember that space is limited so both will fill up quickly, especially the
Auction. A reminder that the minimum number of lots for the auction and
auction store is 10. Details on the Auction can be found at

NEW FOR WBC2024 - JUNIORS REGISTRATION ADDED TO MEMBER APPLICATION FORM: The
Junior participants from last year designed art for a Junior's Shirt. The
Board has approved issuing a shirt to each Juniors' Room Participant for WBC
2024. In order to accommodate this, a new selection for Junior's Room
Attendees has been added to the Application Form found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/MemberForm.shtml. Please submit a form for
each Junior by June 15, 2024. This will make sure we have the correct sizes
for each Junior and to preprint the badges for the Juniors attendees.

 

WBC 2024 SEMINAR AND DEMO SUBMISSIONS DUE SOON:  BPA Sustaining Members or
higher may submit Demonstration Schedule Requests to provide a preview for a
newly published game or playtesting for a game design. Demonstration
schedule requests must be submitted by June 1, 2024. The Demo form can be

BPA Sustaining Members or higher may submit Seminar Schedule Requests for
WBC and Gaming Related Topics. Seminar schedule requests must be submitted

BPA BOARD TENTH SEAT FOR 1Q24 POSTED:  The Tenth Seat for 1Q24 has been
posted at  <http://www.boardgamers.org/tenthseat-1Q24.htm>
http://www.boardgamers.org/tenthseat-1Q24.htm. Future quarterly updates are
planned to be updated in the second month after the quarter ends (February,
May, August, November).

 

SHUTTLE SCHEDULE POSTED:   The Shuttle Schedule for trips to and from
Pittsburgh International Airport and Seven Springs Mountain Resort have been
posted on the Transportation page

(http://www.boardgamers.org/wbclodging_7S.html).

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTING CONTINUES THROUGH JUNE 15: Five Members appear on
the ballot for election to a three-year term on the BPA Board of Directors.
The slate features two incumbents and three challengers. The list of
candidates and their statements can be found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/about_election2017.html .  The voting for the
Board of Directors candidates is now open. Members are encouraged to vote on
who you believe would be the best candidates on your BPA Board of Directors.
Voting will end on June 15, 2024, and winners will be announced at the BPA
Annual Meeting on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at 3pm in the Grand Ballroom at
Seven Springs. Voting is easy with an online ballot which can be found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/BoardBallot.shtml.

 

JUNIOR EVENT GM's NEEDED:  The current list of Juniors tournaments can be
found on the orphan page at
http://www.boardgamers.org/wbc_preparation_pelorphans.html. Junior's
Coordinator, Megan Byrd, is looking for to GM our two open Juniors event
slots. If you are interested in running a Junior's event, please contact

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE ENDS ON JUNE 15: The BPA annual membership drive continues
with Daily memberships now available. Memberships that include WBC admission
ends on June 15, 2024. WBC admissions after that date will be on-site at WBC
only. Associate memberships allowing participation in BPA Email Events will
continue through November 20, 2024.

 

If you still want to get the lower rates before WBC, you must complete and
submit the online application at

Paypal or check.  To become a member before WBC, the form and the payment
must be submitted before June 15 (Paypal payment sent or check postmarked

Completed Tournaments:

 

EMERICK WINS 2024 EGIZIA PBEM:  Andrew Emerick outlasted 32 players to
capture the 2024 Egizia tournament finishing just ahead of Chris Wildes in
the Final. Remaining laurelists, in order, were Jeff Meyer, Micael Swinson,
Eric Freeman, and Dominic Blais. Additional details of the tournament can be

Starting Tournaments:

 

LAS VEGAS TO BEGIN IN JUNE: Chris Wildes will be starting a Las Vegas PBeM
tournament in June. The tournament will have two rounds of four simultaneous
games followed by a single Final game. For more details on the tournament

QUIRKY QUARKS FIRST PBEM TOURNAMENT STARTS IN MAY: Allan Jiang will be GMing
the first PBeM Quirky Quarks tournament in conjunction with its debut at WBC
2024.The goal is to introduce the game to BPA members to help prepare them
for the tournament at WBC. Registration deadline is May 15. Sign-up and

NEXT THROUGH THE AGES TOURNAMENT BEGINS IN AUGUST:  Allan Jiang will once
again be the GM for the 2024 edition of the Through the Ages PBeM

Ongoing Tournaments:

 

FOOTBALL STRATEGY PBEM ENTERS WEEK SIX: Fifty-One games of league play have
been completed in the 2024 Football Strategy tournament. Current results can

MARCH MADNESS PBEM REACHES FINAL FOUR: The tournament has reached the Final
Four. Bracket A has Derek Landel's 14A Arizona 2001 facing Bruno
Passacantando's 16A Florida 2007. Bracket B has slightly higher seeds as
Mike Pacheco's 9B Houston 2021 is playing Oliver Searles' 10B Baylor 2017.
As soon as we have a champion, it will be time for the entire field to vote
on the All-Tournament Team. 

 

GOLFERS ARE ON THE COURSE IN PRO GOLF: Round 2 of the Pro Golf PBeM has
begun. For more details on the tournament, please visit the tournament site

VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC FINISHES 2ND ROUND:  The second round has ended. Five
byes were given so this round would produce a perfect quarterfinal of 8
players. The Allies continue their domination by winning 67% this round.
However, the Japanese pull off a now-rare Knock Out in their lone victory.
Congratulations to Bob Hamel, Eric Anderson, and Jim Bodenheimer for winning
their way to the Quarterfinals. Only two of the original Top 8 seeds has
been eliminated before the Quarterfinal -- very unusual! See all the action

WASHINGTON'S WAR ENTERS ROUND 3:  Round 2 of 4 preliminary rounds is
complete. The top 9 players at 2 wins 0 losses are in order: Philip
Burgin-Young, Dave Rubin, George Young, William Bentley, Dan Leader, Ken
Gutermuth, Ron Jacobsen, Henry Rice, and Bill Peeck. 

Round 3 started May 9th and is scheduled to complete August 15th. Assuming a
week off for WBC from July 19-28. 

 

 

 

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members. 

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.


 

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
