On behalf of the BPA, I would like to wish each of you a happy holiday
season.

 

2019 MEMBERSHIP DRIVE STARTS STRONG: The BPA annual membership drive began
December 2, 2019 and there are 242 members so far.  A list of the current
members can be found at http://www.boardgamers.org/wbc19/prereg.html. 

 

>From now until January 31, 2019, get the lowest membership rates of the
year.    Complete the membership application found at
http://www.boardgamers.org/forms/MemberForm.shtml to take advantage of these
rates.  To be eligible to vote for the 25 Trial events to be held at WBC
2019 as well as the Sportsman of the Year, you must join by January 31st,
2019.  

 

Online membership will remain open until June 15, 2019.  Price increases
will occur on February 1st, and April 1st, and June 15th, 2019.  To receive
a price before it increases, you must submit the online membership
application which is available on the BPA website and send payment by the
date listed (Paypal payment sent or check postmarked by the 3 dates listed).

A reminder that the membership process is not complete until both the
membership application and the funds are received.

 

ORPHANS LIST UPDATED WITH GM SUBMISSIONS: With the membership drive
starting, GM's have begun submitting event forms for WBC 2019.  The complete
listing of those events can be found at

SEVEN SPRINGS RESERVATIONS:  Remember that Reservations at Seven Springs for
Condos/Townhouses, Chalets, and Cabins can be booked now.  Hotel
Reservations for stays of 5 nights or more will open on January 14, 2019.

PBeM NEWS:

 

DIPLOMACY TOURNAMENT TO START IN JANUARY: The next Diplomacy email
tournament is scheduled to start January 10, 2019.  Kevin Youells will be
the GM this year.  For more information, visit the tournament website at

HANNIBAL TO START IN FEBRUARY:  The third Hannibal PBeM tournament will be
run by Tim Tow and will start on February 1, 2019. Sign up by January 28,

This tournament will use the Phalanx rules, which will are equivalent to the
2nd edition rules. Optional cards may be used upon mutual agreement.
Special thanks to Phalanx, who will be providing gift certificates to the
top 3 finishers.

 

NAPOLEONIC WARS TO START IN JANUARY: The next Napoleonic wars tournament
will start on January 5, 2019.  WBC GM Gareth Williams will be GMing this
tournament.   The format will be 2 player double elimination.  For more

PATHS OF GLORY TO START NEXT TOURNAMENT IN FEBRUARY:  The next edition of
the BPA PBeM Paths of Glory tournament will start in February 2019.  Tom
Gregorio will once again be the GM.  The format will once again be double
elimination.

 

TERRA MYSTICA TOURNAMENT STARTS IN JANUARY:  A Terra Mystica tournament, run
by Ryan Feathers, will begin in early January.  Sign-ups with the GM by

2ND THROUGH THE AGES TOURNAMENT TO BEGIN IN JANUARY: Having just finished
the 2018 tournament, GM Randy Buehler is set to run the 2019 tournament

WASHINGTON'S WAR TO BEGIN IN JANUARY:  Washington's War Ladder leader Bill
Peeck will begin the next Washington's War PBeM tournament on January 1,
2019.  The tournament will begin with a four round swiss advancing the top 8
to the next round.  More details can be found at

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members. 

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.


All multi-day paid attendees to WBC are current BPA members for the balance
of that calendar year. 

 

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
as you do. Get involved. See the requirements to host a BPA email tournament
