BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTING RESULTS: We would like to thank all 4 candidates
for their interest in BPA Board of Directors. Incumbents Rebecca Roppolo
and Andy Lewis are joined by Peter Stein as your newly elected Board of
Directors for the 2022 to 2024 term. For more information on the election
results, please visit http://www.boardgamers.org/about_electionresults.html
.

As Don Greenwood's tenure on the Board comes to an end, we all owe Don our
thanks for starting up the BPA, keeping the WBC going for 20+ years, and
providing leadership throughout his twenty-three years on the Board.

WBC 2022 EVENTS: The Board has determined that all Century and Legacy
events scheduled for WBC 2020 and 2021 will be carried over to WBC 2022.
This includes the 100th Century event of Splendor. Since most event
submissions occurred in late 2019 or early 2020, GM's will be asked to
resubmit a new version of the event submission form in the September/October
2021 timeframe. A new form will be created to take into account any changes
to the tiebreaker rules that is currently being discussed by the board as
well as updating the form for the Seven Springs layout. An announcement
will be made in a future newsletter when the tiebreaker decision is made and
when the form will be available.

With the cancellation of WBC 2020 and 2021, the Board has decided to hold a
trial ballot for 30 events. Due to the absence of a ballot since December
2019, the decision has been made to increase the trial event number from 25
to 30 for WBC 2022 only since there have been many new games published since
the last trial ballot. Event forms for the trial ballot will be accepted
from the date the new event submission form is available through October 15,
2021. Voting will be open from November 1, 2021, to November 30, 2021. The
results of the Trial Ballot will be announced in December 2021.

Ongoing Tournaments:

BATTLES OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION ENTERS SEMIFINALS: The Battles of the
American Revolution tournament has entered the semifinal round. Continuing
with the siege theme for the playoffs, this round will see players facing
off on the battlefield of Oriskany. The pairings are George Young vs. Rob
McCracken and Mark Miklos vs. Todd Carter. Follow the action by visiting the
tournament website at https://rfdoane98.wixsite.com/boar2020 .

EMPIRE OF THE SUN FINAL UNDERWAY: The Final match started in late May and
our two finalists are Jay Meyers as the Allies and Greg Waldeck as the
Japanese. The game is proceeding nicely and they are currently in Turn 9
(May-Aug 1944). I expect this final match will be decided by the end of
summer/early fall and we will have our top 6 players for this tournament!

FOR THE PEOPLE ENTERS QUARTERFINALS: The final 8 have entered the
quarterfinals, 4 Americans and 4 Europeans. Games are scheduled to be
completed by September 18. The bracket can be found at

https://ftp-tournament.wixsite.com/forthepeople/bracket .

LAS VEGAS FINISHES FIRST ROUND: The first round saw 21 different winners.
It took a win and a second to advance, which leaves out six single winners,
including our esteemed Convention Director, his wife, and your GM Jay
Spencer (we each had a win and 2 or 3 thirds). Fortunately, my Assistant GM,
Adam Hurd, squeaked into the semifinal with a win and a second, so the GM
team will be represented.

MR. MADISON'S WAR STARTING PLAYOFF ROUNDS: After Round 4, the six players
with the best records have advanced to the elimination round. The top two
players, Erin Weir and Ron Fedin will get a bye into the semifinals.
Gilbert Collins will face Pat Duffy and Dave Stiffler will face Chris
Trimmer to see who joins them in the semifinals.
