Ongoing Tournaments: EMPIRE OF THE SUN IN ROUND 6: Round 6 is moving to conclusion with Jay Meyers and Frank Riepenhausen the only zero-loss players remaining in the tournament. With only 5 players left, the tournament is expected to end in the Summer of 2021. NAVEGADOR ENTERS FINAL ROUND: Navegador PBEM proceeds to the final round with seven players remaining to compete for laurels. Allan Jiang led the second-round standings with three wins and a second-place finish. Robert Woodson and Ray Wolff had two wins each. They are joined by DJ Borton, Mike Kaltman, Ian Vanderhorst, and Anthony Lainesse. PATHS OF GLORY ENTERS ROUND 6: As the fall ends, so does Round 5 of the 2019 BPA POG tournament. By dint of some vigorous card playing, things wrapped up early, thank you to all participants! We started with 133 and, halfway through the tournament, we are now down to 22 weary veterans. Highlights of Round 5 include: 19 matches of which the CP won 12 games, Bids ranged from -2 for the AP (which the AP won!) to +1 for the CP (with the CP winning 9 of 10 matches with this bid.), AND Somewhat surprisingly, only one match went the full 20 turns. Numerous matches featured early AP and CP resignations. RUSSIAN RAILROADS NEARING COMPLETION OF ROUND 1: The last of the 32 first-round games has entered its next-to-last turn. We are on track to start the semifinal round sometime around mid-December." TWILIGHT STRUGGLE ENTERS ROUND 5: After the first four rounds of this triple-elimination tournament, 150 games have been completed and the field has been culled from 78 players down to 51. The USSR has bested the US by a margin of 80-70 (two games of which ended in a tie, which counts as a US win for tournament purposes). The average bid has been 1.97 IP given to the US. Among the 5 remaining undefeated players are last tournament's 3rd place Laurelist, Tony Russo, and Champion, reigning Consul and Caesar, Allan Jiang. Allan is on a 12-game winning streak going back to round 3 of last year. Also doing well is last year's runner-up, Aran Warszawski, who has one loss (to Allan) in the face of a blistering line-up of strong players that have been dealt to him by random assignments. Follow the tournament at https://twstourney.wordpress.com/ . BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA members. Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts. BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not run tournaments.
