PBeM NEWS:

Completed Tournaments:

EMERICK WINS INAUGURAL CONCORDIA PBeM TOURNAMENT: We kicked off the
tournament with 36 players. Each round every player was going to play in
4 simultaneous games, with the second round cut to 16 players and the third
round to 7. We played with the Base Game and Same Starting Resources,
using the Imperium map for the first round and the Italia map for the second
and third rounds.

In the end, Andrew Emerick prevailed, with two wins, along with a second and
third place finish. In one winning game, he had the Brick and Food Minerva
cards and went heavy on expansion, triggering the end game with houses. In
the other win, he had more of a mix and triggered the end game with cards.
The second-place finish was probably the key. In that game, Allan Jiang
won the game by about twenty points, but the other three contenders were
within 2 points of each other, with Andrew narrowly edging Steve LeWinter
for second. One point the other way and the final ranking would have had
Michael Swinson in first overall. The other laurelists were Michael Swinson
2nd, Allan Jiang 3rd, Robb Effinger 4th, Steve LeWinter 5th, and Dennis
Mishler 6th. For more details visit

PEI WINS FOR THE PEOPLE TOURNAMENT: Sixty-Five participants played in 4
Swiss Rounds followed by 3 single elimination rounds. Nick Pei defeated
Hunter Wells to outlast all the participants and keep more For the People
wood in the Pei family. The remaining top finishers were Tolga Corpaci 3rd,
Cedar Rios 4th, Stephane Chevallier 5th and James Pei 6th. For more details

LANDEL WINS 2020 WASHINGTON'S WAR: The final game has been concluded with a
victory by Derek Landel's British over James Pei's Americans. There were 93
Games completed, 42 British Wins (45.16%) and 51 American (54.84%). In the
first 3 rounds it was very balanced 33 British to 34 American victories. In
round 4 it got a little lopsided 5 British to 14 Americans victories. In
the Elimination round 7 games were played 4 British and 3 American wins. The
remaining laurelists were Roderick Lee 3rd, Geoff Allbert 4th, William
Bentley 5th, and Bill Peeck 6th. For more details visit

Ongoing Tournaments:

EMPIRE OF THE SUN ROUND 5 COMPLETE: Round 5 has officially ended and it was
a clean sweep for the Allies. All the bids were US1 or US0 and the Allies
won all 5 games. I'm thinking the pros of this game have figured something
out. =)

To the 4 players who didn't make it to Round 6: Thanks for playing and we'll
look for you next time! There are now 7 players left in the tournament and 2
of them are still undefeated. The standings on the website have been updated
and I'll be setting up Round 6 games within the hour. Good luck, everyone!

PATHS OF GLORY 2019 ROUND 5 STATUS: With about two months left in Round 5, 7
of 19 matches are complete with the AP having won five of those games with
bids for the AP ranging from -2 to 1. All but two of the twelve matches are
on turn ten or later. For you laggards still on turn 3 or 4, prepare for
some nagging. Jukka H. and Johannes N. are two of the four players who'll
be in the undefeated A-Pool for Round 6 while Alex G. and Gareth W. are
consigned to the B-Pool with the rest of the tourney participants fighting
for their lives.

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
