your opponents. The tournament will be played on the Boite-a-Jeux online

ONGOING TOURNAMENTS:

ADVANCED CIVILIZATION FINAL BEGINNING: The final for the 2019 Advanced
Civilization PBEM tournament has started! The finalists are: Kevin Youells,
Jay Spencer, Ed Coderre, Allan Jiang, Andrew Morrison, Daniel Vanciae,
Antonio Cataldo, and Nils Brobakk. Thanks to everyone for playing, and
congratulations to all of the finalists! Now it is time for the real blood
to spill...

EMPIRE OF THE SUN ENTERS ROUND 4: Round 3 has completed with 6 wins for the
Allies and 6 wins for the Japanese. A completely even split! And Round 4 has
begun with the remaining 18 players. Which means, 7 players were left behind
in Round 3. We hope to see you again next time and thanks for playing!

There are only 5 players left in the tournament with zero losses and that
list doesn't include the GMs. The final rounds coming up will see some of
the best Empire of the Sun players sparring to hold the top positions. For
those who haven't made it, take some time to follow the ACTS logs on these
games. They are sure to be very instructive.

VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC ENTERS SECOND ROUND: 20 players joined the
tournament. Two dark horse candidates emerge from the first round -- Hilton
McManus and Bob Jamelli. Bob wins from the very bottom rung to establish
his credentials while Hilton eliminates the fourth seed. The round sees the
IJN prevail 6-4, which is not uncommon in the first round. Six games
feature the Menzel and Open Turn Two balancing options -- and those games
split 3-3. Bob Dragan's bid of 9 is the highest in tournament history, but
his IJN is unsuccessful. See all the action at
https://gameaholics.com/vitp_bpa/vitp_bpa_single_elim_19.htm.

WASHINGTON'S WAR ENTERS SINGLE ELIMINATION ROUND: After 4 Swiss Rounds, the
top eight players have entered the single elimination phase of the
tournament. Advancing are Undefeated Derek Landel, Tim Tow, and James Pei.
Joining them at 3- are Geoff Allbert, Trevor Bender, Bill Peeck, Keith
Wixson, and William Bentley.

BPA PBeM Remember: ... all of the above PBeM fun is free to current BPA
members.

Others may qualify with a $10 Email membership in the year the event starts.

All multi-day paid attendees to WBC are current BPA members for the balance
of that calendar year.

BPA members who would like to see an email tournament for their favorite
game are encouraged to step forward as the GM of such an event. BPA does not
run tournaments. Rather, we are an organization of gamers lending support to
one another so such events can happen. No one cares as much about your hobby
as you do. Get involved. See the requirements to host a BPA email tournament
at http://www.boardgamers.org/pbem.html on the BPA website at
